Introduction

I was born and raised in Woodbridge, Virginia about an hour outside of Washington, D.C.  I attended Aquinas Catholic School for K-8 and then attended Bishop Ireton High School located in Alexandria, Virginia after receiving the principal's award scholarship based on scholastic achievement and character.  Upon graduation from Ireton in the Spring of 2003, I began enrollment at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.  At the College I acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and completed the secondary education program through the School of Education resulting in licensure to teach.
I have always been an active member in the community.  In high school alone I participated in an internationally renowned Wind Ensemble, earned a seat in the All-District Band, managed the varsity baseball team, played on a local soccer team, argued cases before the Virginia Supreme Court justices through the model judiciary program, volunteered to work for a local State Senator, held paid positions during the summer creating virtual tours, and somehow always found time for my friends and family.  My friends and family are truly the most important priority in my life and they have both impacted the person I am and continue to become.
At the moment I look forward to teaching high school English and finding a niche in a new environment.  I hope to continue my level of involvement by adopting leadership and cooperative roles in the school.  In the future I plan to earn my masters and potentially pursue a career in administration.  However, my true passion resides in the classroom interacting with students and fellow colleagues.
