Personal Information
More than a teacher, I am a person who cares about her students and their development as individuals. Both my resume and philosophy of teaching are evidence of my genuine involvement with and concern for my peers. I have been an active and contributing member of the teaching community for several years and that experience has contributed to my overall philosophy for a successful English classroom. Please look at my resume, philosophy, and metaphor to better understand who I am as a person and as a teacher.
In addition to my involvement in the teaching community, I try to be a contributing member of society. I was an active member of a social sorority that hosted an event known as Campus Golf. Every year we dressed up as caddies and led around teams of four to raise money for Prevent Child Abuse America as well as the local Avalon shelter. Last year we raised over $10,000. In addition, I wore a festive sun costume during a 5K hosted by my sorority during a week to raise awareness about eating disorders. Just recently on May 6th I completed a half-marathon that rasied money for numerous charities including the Invisible Children campaign and a Stop the Silence: Stop Children Sexual Abuse group.
